You were always one of my favorite people to see. You will never be forgotten and you will always have a special place in my heart.  To one of the coolest kids I ever meet.  I love you and miss you so much.

Love always

I had the extreme pleasure of being Mechih's art teacher at Forest Park.  I will never forget this past spring, how Mechih was so excited to learn how to draw dragons- he practiced and practiced, and every day would show me a new dragon he had drawn.  Every day his smile would make me so happy when I saw him, he would run up, hug me, tell me something funny or sweet.......I will miss that.  He was always eager to help, to share, to make anyone happy......and he was successful.  He made me happy every day.  I will miss him and his gorgeous, eager smile lighting up the hallways of our school.  I will hold Zemira close this year, and I pledge to do some sort of art work that will honor his presence forever at Forest Park.  It was an honor to know Melchih, I loved being his art teacher, and I loved him!

I will miss you Melchih. I will miss the way you would always run up to me and give me a hug. You were so sweet.
I will miss the way you would look out for Tyler. You were always so helpful.
And, I will miss watching you, Tyler and Redman beat the drums on the church pews every Sunday. RIP, Chi. RIP.

Another one of the memories I have of Melchih was the last time I prepared breakfast at church, there was a lot of fruit, muffins, boiled eggs, and bagels. After Sunday School the children were always first in line and as I served the people  I noticed Melchih was always back in line smiling....the third time he came around I said "Melchih let the prople that just came in eat if they want something" ...he said okay with a big smile and waited.    When they were finished he asked, Are they done??? I said yes and he got some of what was left....As I was cleaning up I found some grapes I had forgot to put out. I ask if anyone wanted them....guess who did?   I gave them to his mom and told her Melchih wants them you decide if its okay...  I love you little guy....you are safe in the arms of Jesus...lil drummer boy.

Melchih was such a sweet little boy. I remember his cute lil smile most of all and how his presence in my classroom simply added sunshine to our days together. Nothing ever got him down and if he did not succeed at doing a task, he would try again. Everything he did was with a smile and I will truely miss his kind spirit. I know he loved the Lord because near the beginning of the school year he started singing a song....which led him to tell me who his pastor was, what church he went to and the rest was history! I will forever remember his servant's heart. I'm sure his walk with Christ had everything to do with Melchih's need to help his teachers'. Whatever you needed he was right there. And if you didn't ask for his assistance, he'd surely offer. Just as Christ meets our needs daily, Melchih at such a young age developed a passion for helping others. I will never forget how he would go get the trash can and sit it right next to me, so that I would stop running back and forth to it while going through morning sickness. He was so thoughtful! It was an honor to be his third grade teacher and he will not only be missed by me, but everyone he touched at Forest Park Elementary. Melchih was not one to melt away in the bakground. He lived life big and saw the bright side in every situation. My final thought is of Melchih shouting in the aisle when I attended his church earlier this year. The music was going and him, Zemira, and a few other kids were really giving God everything they had as they were dancing. Well Melchih...I'm certain that you are shouting, dancing, singing, and giving God ALL in heaven...You took great care of your sister as you walked her out of the school building often holding her hand. I want you to know that will look after her in your absence. I love you!
